A Word From The Pastor

OUR VISION FOR EMMANUEL ( see french version below)

My family and I were presented to the Adventist church Emmanuel January 17, 2015 by the coordinator of the Northeastern Conference, Pastor Jose Joseph and his wife Kethlie. We have been warmly welcomed by leaders and members of this church who showed a lot of care, concern and genuine love for us. I have personally been impressed by the way in which the leaders have used both the local church for the worship service and accommodated it right after in the space of a few minutes to be used to feed the church members. I quickly realized that I'm dealing with people of great visions and great capabilities who, despite the absence of a pastor for a year, maintained lighted the flame of the Gospel. While I intend to present my vision for the growth of the church, I want first of all to thank God for the leaders of this church who have devoted their time, their talents and their money for the advancement of the Cause of God in the community of Huntington. I consider myself blessed by God to serve and collaborate with people as devoted and zealous as elder Ludovic Leroy, Rock Arnoux, Elres Derard, Renal Sainthil, Mirabeau Jean, Dr. Husar Joseph, Dr. Leslie Theodore Sr. Marie Jean and all others members belonging to the church committee.
It says in Amos 3: 3. "Can two walk together without they be agreed" I think it is important for the church to know what direction I am heading into, so that we can be in agreement, work together and achieve our maximum potential.

MISSION
The church was established by Jesus to preach the Gospel. The mission of the church is to spread the gospel and make disciples. The order given to the church by Jesus is clear: "Go ye into all the world and preach to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned "Mark 16:15-16.
a) However to accomplish that mission, the church should be well trained. To share their faith the church members should be able to defend it. With this objective in mind, we have established a permanent Bible class where we carefully study the various doctrines, principles and beliefs of our church. Once prepared our members will be more ready, willing and able to go knocking on doors, give Bible studies and share their faith individually or in small groups.
b) We also believe that to share their faith efficiently, church members must live their faith, meaning that they must live what they preach. Jesus said, "Without Me you can do nothing" John 15: 5. Empowered by that belief, we encourage church members to participate in moments of prayer that the Personnel Ministry set up and hold each first Sabbath of the month from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. We encourage the church to practice true piety in attending the Wednesday night meetings and participating in Sabbath school. This remains a challenge, and we must work together to meet it by the grace of God. We also believe it is important that church leaders give their support to the youth through their presence during Friday night meetings and other youth activities.
c) While we organize crusades to bring new members to the church, we have lots of members, among them young people who have abandoned the church. Our goal is to work with Personal ministry staff, the youth department, members of the church committee to establish a strategy in order to bring many of them back to the fold.

Reform in the divine worship service
Upon our arrival at the Emmanuel Church we realized that the church needed improvement in the organization of the worship service. With the elders and the collaboration of Dr. Theodore we started the process. We will never stop to stress on this matter because worshiping God is the reason why we come to church.

Systematic Visit of church members
The day after our arrival at the Emmanuel church, we started visiting members. We believe that what we cannot accomplish by preaching behind the pulpit, we can achieve it through visits. Behind the pulpit there is such a virtual yet real distance between us and the congregation, but as we are visiting our members at home we become closer and get to know them and understand them better, and that way, we can reach out to them and serve them better. We are ready to visit every church member who is willing to open his door to welcome us and we want to include all the elders, deacons in this great campaign of systematic visits of church members.
Training classes for departments
From time to time, and whenever the need arises, we are going to organize training sessions for the departments to help them better in the accomplishment their task.

Consolidation of the families of the church.
The family is an institution that Satan hates because he knows that the family is the foundation of the church and society. If he manages to destabilize the family, he will also destabilize the church. So, our goal is to strengthen families by having training classes for families and special weeks of prayer.

Construction of the Temple
It is also our goal to finally initiate and witness the groundbreaking of the temple in the year 2016 and to ensure its completion before leaving the district. In this regard we want to thank God for such exceptional people like distinguished elder Sainthil Renal, Sr. Danielle Leroy, Dr. Leslie Theodore, all members of the fundraising staff and the church in general for the outstanding work that they have performed. Upon our arrival at Emmanuel, having realized that the construction battleship had already set sail toward its coveted goal, we climbed on board without delay. We immediately threw a bridge between the church and the Northeastern Conference to facilitate the progress of this project which would not move forward without the approval and support of the Conference. We started and we will continue to establish frequent and recurrent moments of prayer for the construction.
As we are wrapping up our first year of ministry in Emmanuel Church, we can say that we are still very far from the anticipated objectives. But with God's help and collaboration of people as devoted as you are, we will succeed.

NOTRE VISION POUR EMMANUEL

Ma famille et moi, avons été présentés à l’église adventiste Emmanuel le 17 janvier 2015 par le coordonnateur de la Northeastern Conference, le pasteur Jose Joseph et sa femme Kethlie. Nous avons été accueillis chaudement par les dirigeants et les membres de cette église qui nous ont témoigné depuis lors et jusqu’à présent beaucoup d’amour. J’ai été personnellement impressionné par la façon dont ils se servaient à la fois du local de l’église pour le service du culte d’adoration et aussi la façon dont ils l’ont accommodé tout de suite après dans l’espace de quelques minutes pour servir à manger aux invités et aux membres d’église. J’ai vite compris que j’ai affaire à des gens de grande vision et de grande capacité qui, malgré l’absence d’un pasteur pendant un an, ont maintenu allumé la flamme de l’évangile. Alors que je me propose de présenter ma vision pour la croissance de l’église, je veux tout d’abord rendre grâce à Dieu pour des leaders de cette église qui ont consacré leur temps, leur talent et leur argent pour l’avancement de la cause de Dieu dans la communauté de Huntington. Je me considère béni de Dieu d’avoir à collaborer avec des gens aussi consacrés que zélés comme nos anciens Ludovic Leroy, Rock Arnoux, Elres Derard, Renald Sainthil, Mirabeau Jean, Dr Husar Joseph, ainsi que Dr Leslie Theodore, Sr Marie Jean et tous les autres membres faisant partie du comité directeur de cette église.
            Il est dit dans Amos 3:3 “ Deux hommes marchent-ils ensemble sans en être convenus.” Je crois qu’il est important que l’église sache dans quelle direction où je veux aller pour qu’elle puisse emboiter le pas.

Mission
L’église a été instituée par Jésus pour prêcher l’évangile. Ainsi donc, sa mission est de prêcher l’évangile et de faire des disciples. L’ordre donné à l’église par Jésus est clair: “ Allez par tout le monde et prêchez la “Bonne Nouvelle”. Celui qui croira et qui sera baptisé sera sauvé, mais celui qui ne croira pas sera condamné.” Marc 16: 16-18
a)         Cependant, pour accomplir cette mission, l’église doit être préparée. Pour partager leur foi, les membres doivent être en mesure de la défendre. C’est dans ce sens que nous avons mis sur pied une classe de Bible permanente où nous étudions soigneusement les différents points de doctrine de notre église. Une fois formés, ils seront plus enclins à aller frapper aux portes pour donner à leur tour des études bibliques et partager leur foi dans les petits groupes.
b)         Nous pensons aussi que pour partager leur foi efficacement, ils doivent vivre ce qu’ils prêchent. Jésus a dit: “ Sans moi vous ne pouvez rien faire” Jean 15:5. Pour cela, nous encourageons les membres d’église à participer dans les moments de prière que le ministère personnel a mis sur pied et qui se tiennent chaque premier sabbat du mois de 7:00PM à 10:00PM. Nous encourageons l’église à pratiquer la vraie piété en fréquentant les réunions du mercredi soir et en participant à l’école du sabbat. Cela reste un défi et nous devons absolument travailler ensemble pour le relever par la grâce de Dieu. Nous croyons aussi qu’il est important que les dirigeants d’église doivent encadrer la jeunesse par leur présence aux réunions du vendredi soir.
c)         Alors que nous organisons des croisades pour faire entrer de nouveaux membres à l’église, nous pensons aussi aux anciens membres et parmi eux des jeunes qui ont abandonné leur foi. Notre objectif, c’est de travailler de concert avec le ministère personnel, le département de jeunesse, les membres du comité d’église afin de trouver une stratégie en vue de ramener bien d’entre eux au bercail.

Reforme dans le service du culte d’adoration.
Dès notre arrivée à l’église Emmanuel, nous avons réalisé que le service de culte d’adoration doit être amélioré. Avec les anciens et la collaboration de Dr. Théodore, nous avons commencé le processus. Nous ne cesserons jamais d’insister sur ce point parce qu’adorer Dieu, c’est la raison pour laquelle nous venons à l’église.

Visite systématique des membres d’église.
Le lendemain de notre arrivée, nous avons commencé à visiter les membres. Nous pensons que ce que nous ne pouvons pas accomplir par la prédication derrière la chair, nous pouvons le réaliser par des visites. Derrière le pupitre, on est distant des membres, mais en les visitant à la maison on s’approche d’eux, et ce faisant, on peut mieux les atteindre. Nous sommes disposés à visiter chaque membre d’église qui veut ouvrir sa porte pour nous recevoir et nous voulons inclure tous les anciens, les diacres dans cette grande campagne de visites systématique.

Cours de formation pour les départements.
Au fur et à mesure et chaque fois que le besoin se fait sentir, nous pensons organiser des cours de formation pour les départements en vue de les aider a mieux accomplir leur tâche.

Consolidation des familles de l’église. .
La famille est l’une des institutions que Satan hait parce qu’il sait que la famille est la base de l’église et de la société. S’il parvient à la déstabiliser, il déstabilisera aussi l’église. Donc, notre objectif est de consolider les familles en ayant des cours de formation et des semaines de prière spéciale sur la famille.

Construction du temple
C’est aussi notre objectif de voir poser les fondations du temple au cours de l’année 2016 et de le voir achever sous nos yeux. A ce sujet, nous voulons rendre grâce à Dieu en faveur des gens aussi exceptionnels que distingués tels que l’ancien Renald Sainthil , Sr Danielle Leroy, Dr Leslie Theodore, tous les membres du staff Fundraising Department et de l’église en général pour le travail qu’ils ont déjà réalisé. A notre arrivée à Emmanuel, le bateau de la construction du temple ayant été déjà décroché, nous nous sommes précipités de monter à bord. Ainsi, nous avons tout de suite jeté un pont entre l’église et la Northeastern Conference pour faciliter l’avancement de ce projet qui ne peut avancer ni aboutir sans l’approbation et l’aide de cette dernière. Nous avons commencé et nous continuerons à établir des moments de jeûnes et de prières périodiques en faveur de la construction.
Alors que nous sommes en train de boucler notre première année de ministère à église Emmanuel, nous pouvons dire que nous sommes encore très loin des objectifs fixés. Cependant, avec l’aide de Dieu et la collaboration des gens aussi consacrés que zélés nous y arriverons.
